Hello beautiful people!
I have a little update for you. My husband and I have been doing small weekend trips all summer. We’re generally busy people, but this summer we went to birthday after birthday after birthday.
The most recent birthday we celebrated, was a best friend’s birthday. This is my husband’s best friend and we traveled up north to the DMV for it. Maryland to be exact.
The birthday man’s wife planned fun activities for everyone to enjoy. I wish I had all the pictures, but I was too busy having fun to have photo ops.
July 25
We arrived in Maryland to meet up with the friends. The theme for the night was Cowboy and Cowgirls. We had to wear our best Texan outfits while we did a meet and greet at Texas Roadhouse.
July 26
The next day we did laser tag at Shadowland.
It was a complete workout!
The 14 of us were split into two teams. We weren’t allowed to run during the three rounds. However, going up and down stairs, or crouching in different positions kept us sweating. Perfect way to work up an appetite before we went swimming.
We went swimming thanks to Swimly. Swimly is essentially an Air BnB for pools. Read into it before utilizing it.
July 27
We went to DC with my husband’s other best friend. She brought two other people along for the ride and we loved it. We wanted seafood and went to Urban Crab Shack. Afterwards we saw the different monuments in DC. What was crazy was parking. We think they must have had three events going on that day. One of them being Broccoli Fest.
We were stuck in traffic for like an hour. We went back to the respective hotels and showered to prepare for the big birthday party.
The party was sports jersey themed. It was cool seeing everyone in their jerseys. My husband and I had our jerseys made. It was a great night.
I was on the “dance floor” most of the night.
July 28
This was the day where we had to part ways. We left that side of Maryland to go to another side of Maryland – National Harbor to play Top Golf. We met up with two of my husband’s old work friends from Virginia. It felt good to see them again.
We really miss living in Virginia. It brought back good memories.
The fellas scored higher than me in regular Top Golf. But when we did Block Party, I scored higher than all of them. It helped my ego. :)P
