Look at what I’ve Been Writing

Life as a freelance writer this year has been interesting. I am still writing for small newspapers and magazines. This year, I also wrote a personal piece for a well-known brand. Go ahead and check out what I wrote for Women’s View Magazine in Fayetteville, NC. My story is on page 14. I wrote this for Prince William Living in Prince William County, Virginia. This is the piece for well-known brand, Business Insider. It was an easier process and I was actually paid more than what I am used to. For those wondering how I was able to get the … Continue reading Look at what I’ve Been Writing

Impromptu visit to Farmer’s Market

Nov. 18, 2023 My husband and I went home last week to Summerville, SC. After visiting my dad, we drove through downtown Summerville. The area is growing so much and we found cool vendors at the farmer’s market. Fruit Creations, All Natural Dip, Blue Sky Sunny Day Farm, and a sweet grass basket table caught our attention. While the market’s season is coming to an end, I’m glad we went. When I was a kid, my parents, sister, and I would go to the Ladson Flea Market. This is definitely smaller than that one. I can’t wait to put the … Continue reading Impromptu visit to Farmer’s Market

Trip to Miami cont.

In the previous blog post, I discussed our first day in Miami with you. My husband and I went to Miami with my sister-in-law for her birthday.  This blog entry will show the different sites we saw on the trip. It will show the different neighborhoods we drove through.  We stayed in the Arts District of Miami. Sadly, I deleted the different photos and videos of the murals we saw. However, here are some of the items I did keep:  The video you just watched has the following information:  One of the things we learned the first three hours in … Continue reading Trip to Miami cont.

Trip to Miami 2023

My husband and I have had an enjoyable May. A piece of this is due to my sister-in-law’s desire to do her birthday in Miami. We planned the trip for several months. Miami is what I expected and then some. We visited many places in the area and still did not cover everything.   Day 1 This is about to sound cheesy, but I knew this trip was going to be a good trip when I saw what our gate number was at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.   Our gate was B5. Many of you know I am a B5 fan. … Continue reading Trip to Miami 2023

Katrina The Substitute Teacher 2

June 2023 Let me tell you more information about getting paid and the drills I went through. Then I’ll discuss my long-term assignment I took as a substitute teacher. County/ESS I filled out the application to sub in the county in April 2022. I think by June they had run my background check and whatnot.  I had to get a physical done. I was not expecting that at all. When I first started, we were paid monthly. For example, whatever days I worked September 1 – September 30, I received the check towards the end of October.  I disliked that … Continue reading Katrina The Substitute Teacher 2

Katrina the Substitute Teacher

June 11, 2023 I have been a sub in Union County, North Carolina since August 2022 and I wrote things I have noticed since starting.  Why I Became A Sub I’ve been trying to work for the school system since we lived in Virginia. Yes. Writing is my first love, but I wanted to try this too. I think I applied for school jobs a lot in 2019.  No success.  I wanted to work in the school system for the time off.  I’m sure you all have noticed that Fred and I travel frequently. I figured working in the school … Continue reading Katrina the Substitute Teacher
